Currently I am Interim Professor (Vertretungsprofessor) in lieu of Prof. Dr.-Ing. H. S. Stiehl during his period as Vice President of the University of Hamburg.

In this role I temporarily lead the Image Processing Group (Bildverarbeitung, BV) which is part of the former Cognitive Systems Group (KOGS) of Prof. Bernd Neumann.

Part of the group is the 3D Geometry Lab with research topics in 3D surface reconstruction and geometry processing, both in theory and in practice. The lab is equipped with a high-precision 3D scanning system consisting of 6 individual scanners (2 Breuckmann smartScan Duo and 4 Breuckmann faceScan 3D), 5 Microsoft Kinect scanners for 3D video, a 3D Color Printer (ZCorp ZPrinter 650) and a 55" Full HD 3D Display.
